IMPORTANT INFORMATION INSIDE
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to our Holiday Camp! Since 2006, School Camps Qld has been bringing kids
to camp from all over Australia.
School Camps Qld is the booking agent for holiday camps. The camps are run by
Leadership Under the Stars Inc. which is a charity organisation that promotes children
and young people get back outdoors and enjoying life full of adventure. We are a not
for profit organisation. Therefore, all costs are kept as low as possible and any profits
are put back into the charity.
We have put over 14,000 children and young adults through our programs. There are
many different reasons that kids come on camp:
• Respite for both parents and children
• Break from technology
• Build confidence and self esteem
• To get outdoors
• To learn new skills
• To use their imagination
• To increase their creativity
Our camp is based on some simple values:
At SCQ we are committed to the outdoors, individual personal achievement, justice and
We create an environment for your children and young people to thrive with health and
The respect our leaders have for one another and the young people is great with
tolerance, acceptance and care as the foundation of their respect.
All of our leaders have been with us, first as campers themselves and then as leaders
and as future leaders of our community.
We embrace each individual’s qualities and characteristics and help them to develop
those values through the outdoors. This includes both our campers and our leaders.
Our charity, Leadership Under the Stars Inc helps to provide some funds to children
who can’t attend otherwise. Usually around 10% of our campers are sponsored. Some
are foster kids, some have grandparents that raise their children's children. Some are
parents from low socio economic backgrounds. Some have disabilities and need a little
We welcome parents to give us feedback and we ask the children and young people
throughout the camp to gauge their experiences and how we can improve. It takes such
a wide scope of individuals to makeup our society. If each individual can give back just
a few of these qualities, then what a bright future we have for our country.
